What did you do this past week?

This past week we talked about the things we had to add to finalize the project. Refining search and ensuring it works with almost anything. Also, we are talking about how to make the video for the project presentation.

What’s in your way?

Motivation as usual. It is almost the end of the semester and I am a senior. All I really have to do is pass. My only real motivation is to not disappoint my teammates. So that will keep me going until the exam where I will get a 50.

What will you do next week?

This week we will refine the API to work with all the goals we set earlier on. There are some issues with the way things are programmed so I do not think all of it will be possible. Most of it should be possible though.

If you read it, what did you think of The New Methodology?

Seems neat. I think all the development models have issues so the ideal would be a mix or using multiple ones.

What was your experience of SQL? (this question will vary, week to week)

I have used SQL before but nowhere near as complicated as what we saw in class. I think SQL these days is abstracted through things like SQLalchemy and the like.

What made you happy this week?

I got into baking again. I made spinach puffs and they were pretty good.

What’s your pick-of-the-week or tip-of-the-week?

My tip of the week is a dual monitor setup. There is really nothing like looking at documentation while you code. It really speeds up the development process in my opinion. A second-hand monitor is the way to go unless you want that new stuff like 4k.
